SCHOOL LIFE

In addition to rigorous academic curriculum we aim to offer our students an array of opportunities to develop emotionally, socially and physically, and have lots of fun along the way!

Our co-curricular and extra-curricular activities include:
  • School celebrations and events to acknowledge major holidays in Japan and around the world, and celebrate the cultural diversity at UST.
  • The ECAs (extra-curricular activities) program is available Monday through Friday.
  • Workout Fridays (once a month on a Friday, children go to a big park for an extended "play" or PE period).
  • School field trips (each term students go on a field trip pertaining to their unit of study in Science or Social Studies).
  • Annual school team-building trips (each year, UST organizes an overnight ski trip or camping trip for the elementary students).
  • UST promotes leadership among the students by supporting and encouraging student participation in the UST Student Council.
  • To stay true to our principles of charity and cooperation, the school is working on building a relationship with one of the underprivileged elementary schools in Cambodia.  We encourage our students to take ownership of this wonderful project and come up with ideas on how we can collaborate with the Cambodian students and what we can do to help their school.  This program is designed to empower our students to become aware, able, and active contributors to the world community, as well as foster empathy and help students recognize that part of being human is seeking opportunities to put themselves aside in the service of others.
  • Varius School Social Responsibility (SSR) initiatives (Helping Hand, Eco Drives, etc).
